For moving platform or host
Move your site to a new platform or host without losing what it has earned
Changing platform or host tends to get put off until it's urgent: the host goes down at busy times, the old builder can't do what you need, or the WordPress install nobody understands keeps breaking. We plan the move, carry over your pages, URLs and integrations, redirect anything that changes, and switch over off-hours with a rollback plan ready, so customers shouldn't notice the move.
What you get
What’s included
Full inventory
Every page, URL, form, integration and tracking script listed before we move anything.
Content and data transfer
Pages, posts and media moved, plus products and customer records for stores.
Redirect map
Each old URL matched to its new address and redirected, protecting rankings and links from other sites.
Integrations reconnected
Booking, forms, payments, email and analytics reconnected and tested on the new setup.
Off-hours cutover
DNS and the switch-over scheduled for your quietest hours, with a rollback plan if anything goes wrong.
Post-move checks
Search Console, broken links and key pages watched after the move so problems are caught early.
A good fit if
- Businesses leaving Wix, Squarespace or an old WordPress setup for a platform they can grow on
- Sites on cheap or unreliable hosting that struggles at peak times
- Stores moving to Shopify from another ecommerce platform
- Owners who inherited a site from a developer who's no longer around
Not included
- A redesign of the site, which can be combined with the move as a separate package
- Rebuilding custom features that don't exist on the new platform, quoted separately
- Moving active subscriptions between billing systems, which needs its own plan
- New hosting or platform fees
How it runs
From kickoff to handover
- Step 1
Inventory and plan
We list everything on the current site and agree the target platform, the redirect map and the cutover window.
- Step 2
Build on staging
Content, data and integrations are moved to the new setup on a private staging address.
- Step 3
Test on staging
Forms, booking, checkout, redirects and tracking are tested before any visitor sees the new site.
- Step 4
Cutover
We switch DNS during your quietest hours and confirm the live site, with rollback ready.
- Step 5
Watch and fix
We monitor Search Console and broken links after the move and fix anything that slips.
Questions
Questions about Site migration
Will we lose our Google rankings?
Rankings drop badly when old URLs start returning errors, and the redirect map is there to prevent that. Expect some movement for a few weeks while Google recrawls the new site. We watch Search Console during that period and fix anything that slips.
Will the site go offline during the move?
We build and test the new version first, then switch DNS during your quietest hours, so most visitors won't see a gap. If something goes wrong, the rollback plan points traffic back to the old site.
Can we redesign at the same time?
Yes, though there's more to test at once. If your content and structure are fine, migrate first and redesign later. If the old design has to go anyway, combining the two saves doing the work twice.
Which platforms can you move between?
Common moves include Wix or Squarespace to WordPress, Webflow or Framer, WooCommerce to Shopify, and WordPress from one host to another. Tell us where you are and where you want to be, and we'll confirm it's possible before you pay.
What happens to our email?
Email often runs on the same domain, so DNS changes have to keep it working. We record your email settings before changing anything and make sure they carry over.
